The protection device has a condenser (16) for testing a supply voltage of an electronic unit, which is stably powered by a main power supply (10) and a battery. A current-limiting device (18) is provided for limiting the current by the condenser in case of short-circuit of the condenser. A ceramic condenser is provided as condenser.
