Provided is a drainage device for ophthalmic surgery wherein a good drainage ability can be continuously ensured by a simple structure without using an aspirator or the like. A drainage device (1) is composed of a main body (2), drooping members (3), a leg member (4) provided on a back surface of the main body (2), and a projecting member (5) projected into the palpebral fissure. The main body (2) and the drooping members (3) are made of paper, which has a wettable surface and prevents water from penetrating into the inside thereof, and molded integrally into a roughly trapezoidal shape as a whole. Lateral edges (23, 24) of the main body (2) are formed so as to follow the eyelid margin (E3) in the vicinity of the lateral angle of eye (E4). A gap (G) is formed between the main body (2) and a sterile seal (S). The drooping members (3) extend inward from the eyelid margin (E3). When liquid (L2) is pooled within the palpebral fissure (E5) and comes into contact with the bottom end of the drooping members (3), the liquid (L2) is drawn into the gap among the drooping members (3), the eyelid margin (E3) and the back surface of the main body (2) due to the wettability of the drooping members (3) (or the stickiness of the liquid (L 2)) and flows through the gap (G) between the main body (2) and the sterile seal (S) toward the downstream side. Thus, the liquid (L2) can be discharged from the palpebral fissure (E5) without using an aspirator or the like.
