The present invention is directed to processes and compositions for protecting host animals (e.g. chickens) from exposure to virulent infectious bronchitis virus. In ovo administration strains of IB at appropriate dosage levels on a per egg basis provides an effective and efficient vaccination having acceptable safety and efficacy features.
