An image processing device in a digital triax system wherein main and return video pictures and control instructions are sent between a camera and a camera control unit includes: a unit for accumulating encoded image data; a unit for reading out the encoded data in data increments; a unit for determining whether or not a parameter indicating the accumulated state of the encoded data satisfies a accumulation condition; a unit for forbidding readout of encoded data to be read out following encoded data being read out by the reading unit in data increments, in the case of determining that the parameter satisfies the condition; and a unit for controlling the reading unit to omit readout of encoded data of which readout is forbidden, and performing readout of encoded data of which readout is not prohibited. |
