PURPOSE: A navigation apparatus and a method thereof are provided to recognize the object name within the video information so that the information and map data about the acknowledged object are matched and the estimated position can be confirmed presently of the terminal. CONSTITUTION: A controller(409) generates the road guidance information by the basis. A first estimated position is created the name of the object included in the video information to the basis. A second estimated position is created with the GPS(401) receiver and DR(Dead Reckoning) sensor(402). The GPS receiver generates first position data of the terminal by the basis received.
