PURPOSE: A power-saving outlet and an operation method for conveniently cutting off electric and electronic appliance quarantined with the input power source are provided to prevent malfunction by setting up reference standby power of electric and electronic appliance. CONSTITUTION: An AC power input unit receives an AC power source. A relay(140) conducts the applied AC power source. A detector(130) detects the stand-by power of electrically connected electric and electronic appliances and the relay. A memory(150) stores the size of the detected stand-by power as the reference atmosphere electricity of electric and electronic appliances. The stand-by power of electric and electronic appliances is similar for the reference atmosphere electricity and predetermined time.
