METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SPEED IN OPTICAL DISC DEVICE

PURPOSE: A speed control method in an optical disc device is provided to reduce undesired noise and heat and power consumption and to decrease vibration by optimizing a speed control. CONSTITUTION: A speed control method in an optical disc device comprises next steps. The actual transmission rate of the data which is read from an optical disc and transmitted to a host is detected(S304). A section to which an actual transmission rate belongs detected in the state divided into a plurality of sections according to the value of the actual transmission rate of data is searched. The rotation speed of the optical disc is controlled by comparing with a reference rotation speed for the searched section. The mode of the host is determined based on the actual transmission rate which is calculated from the actual traffic of data detected by unit times.
