PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a polarizer, the polarizer, and a polarization plate including the same are provided to improve white brightness and a contrast ratio by suppressing ketone by adding carbonate. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a polarizer with iodine absorbed and originated on a PVA based film comprise a step of suppressing ketone by adding carbonate. The carbonate is added in a swelling step, a dying step, or cross-linking step. The carbonate is one or more selected from a group made of sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, ammonium carbonate, zinc carbonate, copper carbonate and barium carbonate. The carbonate with a water soluble state is added.
