FIELD: oil and gas industry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device and method for purification of diesel fuel enabling production of a highly pure fuel meeting the requirements of complete combustion in engine combustion chambers. The purification device contains a purification chamber enclosed inside the device outer shell, having a partition with a conic and a cylindrical parts surrounded by a filter and positioned so that to enable supply of fuel through the device inlet aperture with subsequent passage through the tube downwards into the conic part; the partition with the filter is designed so that to provide for supply of heated fuel towards the filter; in the device upper part there is a relief valve, in the device lower part there is a heater element and water control sensor designed so that to enable connection to the light and acoustic indicators on the instrument panel in the cabin; on the bottom there is an overflow valve. The diesel fuel purification method involves usage of the above device. ^ EFFECT: production of highly pure fuel, minimisation of maintenance and repair. ^ 12 cl, 5 dwg
