PURPOSE: A compound containing crosslinkable moieties is provided to be used as an optical waveguide due to low light loss and to be used for manufacturing a waveguide thick film without a supporter due to excellent mechanical properties. CONSTITUTION: A compound has a chemical formula 1. The chemical formula 1 is Ar-H. In the chemical formula 1, Ar includes a terminal crosslinkable group, one group which is selected from -O-, -S-, -COO-, -CO-, -COS-, -SO_2-, and -NH-, and one or two repeating units which are selected from a chemical formula(1-a), a chemical formula(1-b), a chemical formula(1-c), and a chemical formula(1-d). In the repeating units, A is carbon or nitrogen and X is hydrogen or halogen.
