<p>PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for compensating the display defects of a flat display device are provided to detect compensation data related to a specific reference grayscale and compensate the display defects of all grayscales based on the detected compensation data. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(42) detects the brightness and the color of a display panel(40). A computer(44) supplies test data to the display panel and analyze the brightness and the color of the display panel based on the output signal of the sensor. A program processing unit(46) processes a compensation program based on information related to display defects. A memory(48) stores the position data of display defects and a reference grayscale compensation value which are determined by the process of the compensation program.</p> |
