PURPOSE: A digital television and a method for controlling the same are provided to recover an OS environment with error before the error influences another OS environment. CONSTITUTION: The first OS unit(130) offers the first OS environment. The second OS unit(140) offers the first OS environment and the second OS environment. The first OS unit recovers the second OS environment. The first OS unit re-installs the second OS or an application installed in the second OS environment. The first OS unit recovers the second OS environment through the re-installed application.
