PURPOSE: A system and a method for monitoring the calorific value of LNG inside a storage tank on a real time basis is provided to measure the density and temperature of the LNG inside an LNG storage member and grasp the calorific value of LNG inside an LNG storage member using the same. CONSTITUTION: A system for monitoring the calorific value of LNG inside a storage tank on a real time basis comprises one or more LNG(Liquefied Natural Gas) storage members, LNG density and temperature measurement members, calculating members, and monitoring members. The LNG density and temperature measurement members are included in the LNG storage members. The calculating members calculate the calorific value using the density and temperature value measured by the measurement member. The monitoring members display the calorific value calculated by the calculating members.
