PURPOSE: A hydraulic power steering apparatus for vehicle is provided to prevent the loss of a hydraulic pump by bypassing working fluid supplied from a supply flow path to a return flow path when a driver turns a steering wheel up to the end. CONSTITUTION: A hydraulic power steering apparatus(200) for vehicle comprises a solenoid valve(270), a piston(240), a left position sensor(260), a right position sensor(265), and an electronic control unit(250). The solenoid valve comprises a bypass channel bypassing working fluid to a return flow path(125). The piston moves a rack bar(220) to the left and the right. The left and right position sensors are coupled with a working cylinder(145) corresponding to the left end and the right end of a section in which a piston moves in a reciprocating motion. The electronic control unit is inputted with the position signals of the piston from the left and right position sensors.
