This invention relates to a vertical machine for washing and wringing clothes in two tubs by means of a closed pump circuit which supplies the washing or centrifuging system. The washing process uses a special eductor which produces a cavitation effect above the clothes, together with a rotary washing system which causes the paused circulation of the clothes; rotation of the washing system is produced by the same water flow. Centrifuging is performed inside the inner tub which is rotationally driven by means of a turbine so that the tub rotates about the virtual axis which passes through the centre of gravity thereof and the clothes to be wrung, together with the use of a special annular self-balancing chamber. Rotation of the tub about the virtual axis is achieved by float-mounting the inner tub or by means of special supports which combine the speed components of any point of the tub. The basic principles of the above concepts are applicable to different embodiments and also, with certain modifications, to a horizontal-axis or front-loading washing machine or an industrial washing machine.
