<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a mounting error of a component caused by a driving error of a head without spoiling productivity of a substrate. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The component mounting device is to mount components on the substrate P at a mounting work position by holding the components by a head unit 7 provided with the head 8 for mounting the components. The device has: a table 20 for imitation mounting, which is disposed on the outside of the substrate P at the mounting work position; and a substrate recognizing camera 9 capable of imaging a jig component mounted on the table 20. It also has a control part to perform a prescribed calibration process to calculate the mounting error of the jig component with respect to a target position based on image data by mounting the jig component on the table 20 by the head 8 and imaging the component by the substrate recognizing camera 9.
