PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle capable of accurately controlling a lockup clutch. SOLUTION: An ECT-ECU as the control device for the vehicle estimates future output torque TE of an engine and an engine speed NE for each engagement pressure of the lockup clutch in accordance with a variation rate of a throttle opening, and estimates a future fuel consumption rate of the engine for each engagement pressure of the lockup clutch in accordance with the estimated future output torque TE of the engine and the engine speed NE, and controls the engagement pressure of the lockup clutch in the engagement pressure wherein the future fuel consumption rate is the minimum.
