<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging apparatus which allows a chute to be movable and has the simplified structure and is controlled in a simple manner. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The charging apparatus includes; a frame 3; a swivelling axis D1 set to the frame; a rotor 4 which is supported by the frame and rotatable around the swivelling axis; an adjusting axis D2 which is set to the rotor and crosses the swivelling axis at a first angle A1; a holder 5 which is supported by the rotor by a rotation-supporting mechanism 13 and is rotatable around the adjusting axis; the chute 6 which is fixed to the holder and extends to a direction crossing the adjusting axis at a second angle A2; a driving mechanism 11 driving the rotor around the swivelling axis with respect to the frame; and a phase adjusting mechanism 12 which can synchronously rotate the holder and the rotor and adjust synchronization phase of the holder and the rotor. The phase adjusting mechanism is provided with: a transporting mechanism 14 including a clutch member 7 and a brake member 8; a clutch mechanism 15; and a reciprocating mechanism 16.
