摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic forming apparatus preventing breakage of an electromagnetic coil and preventing an increase in the required input energy when a metal tube as a workpiece has a small diameter. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The workpiece 1 is a metal tube (an aluminum alloy tube) having a relatively small diameter (the outside diameter Dw). The electromagnetic coil 3 has a relatively large diameter (the outside diameter Dc). A core member 2 is inserted inside the workpiece 1 and the electromagnetic coil 3, and the coil 3 and the workpiece 1 are magnetically connected to each other by the core member 2. The core member 2 is formed of a ferromagnetic material having a relative magnetic permeability of ≥100. The workpiece 1 is subjected to the electromagnetic expansion by inducing the magnetic flux generated by the electric conduction to the electromagnetic coil 3 via the core member 2.
