The mechanism has a refrigerant circuit, where electrical elements are in heat exchange with a low temperature coolant that passes through a heat exchanger (3) together with a refrigerant of an air conditioning system. The refrigerant circuit has a compressor (4), a condenser (5), an expansion valve (6) and an evaporator (7) that are connected by a refrigerant line (8). The heat exchanger is attached to the refrigerant line that lies between the condenser or gas radiator and an expansion valve. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a tempering mechanism.
