BOOKBINDING SYSTEM, ADHESIVE APPLYING DEVICE FOR BOOKBINDING, AND ADHESIVE SHEET

In a bookbinding system (400), a binding device (450) is provided with a device mounting section (452) and a mechanism containing section (454).  The device mounting section (452) is configured in such a manner that an adhesive applying device and a collating device (410) which sends a paper sheet out of a paper sheet containing section, stacks paper sheets on top of another, and conveys the paper sheets to the binding device (450) can be selectively mounted to the device mounting section (452).  The binding mechanism containing section (454) is configured in such a manner that a compression bonding mechanism and a mechanism (470) for performing binding processing by needling can be selectively mounted to the binding mechanism containing section (454).  The adhesive applying device is adapted to be able to apply an adhesive to paper sheets.  The compression bonding mechanism is adapted to be able to perform compression bonding by which the paper sheets to which the adhesive has been applied are bonded together under compression.
