PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for estimating a depth for providing necessary depth information in converting a two-dimensional (2D) monocular video not including depth information into a stereoscopic (3D) video, and to provide on apparatus for stereoscopic (3D) video conversion using the apparatus and method for estimating the depth.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for estimating the depth to be disclosed extracts feature information of input images and estimating depth values, each of which is a depth direction component of each part of the input images, using the extracted feature information.
