PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open type burning appliance suppressing adhesion of foreign matters on a gas sensing part. SOLUTION: The open type burning appliance 100 is provided with: a combustion part 1 for burning supplied fuel; an air blowing part 6 for taking in outside air from an air supply port and sending the outside air to an outflow port via the combustion part 1; and the gas sensing part 20 sensing either one of or both of combustible gas and carbon monoxide gas. The gas sensing part 20 is stored within a casing 24 with a window 23 and senses fluid intruding into the casing 24 through the window 23. The open type burning appliance 100 is further provided with a foreign matter adhesion suppressing means A for positioning a cover 25 in an opening position for opening the window 23 when the combustion part 1 is in the burned state, and for positioning the cover 25 in the closing position for closing the window 23 when the combustion part 1 is the unburned state, so as to suppress adhesion of foreign matters on the gas sensing part 20.
