PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wire rod for a terminal capable of simplifying a manufacturing process of a terminal, and to provide a manufacturing method of a terminal. SOLUTION: The metal wire rod 30 for a terminal is cut off to be used as materials for male terminals 31. A plurality of first wire rod regions (first wire rod regions 31f and first wire rod regions 31g) and a plurality of second wire rod regions 31s are formed in the metal wire rod 30. The first wire rod regions are plated with gold (a first material), and gold is exposed.
