[Also in Groups XXIII and XL(a)] In a gas filled electric lamp 1 having a vitreous envelope 12 and a hollow stem, a pair of lead-in wires 6a, 7a connected to wires 6c, 7c respectively. The wire 7c passes through the bore of a narrow high-lead-content glass' tube 36, and at least one turn of lead-in wire 6c is wrapped around the sleeve 36. This arrangement is designed to provide a low resistance juncture between the lead-in wires when the lead glass sleeve 36 is melted, and thus acts as a fuse.
