Disclosed is a solvent for nonaqueous electrolyte solution, which contains a non-fluorinated cyclic carbonate , a non-fluorinated chain carbonate and 1,2-dialkyl-1,2-difluoroethylene carbonate. The solvent contains 10-50% by volume of the non-fluorinated cyclic carbonate, 49.9-89.9% by volume of the non-fluorinated chain carbonate and not less than 0.1% by volume but less than 30% by volume of the 1,2-dialkyl-1,2-difluoroethylene carbonate when the total of and is taken as 100% by volume. Also disclosed are a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing the solvent, and a lithium secondary battery using the nonaqueous electrolyte solution. The solvent for nonaqueous electrolyte solution of lithium secondary battery enables production of a highly safe lithium secondary battery which has specifically excellent discharge capacity, rate characteristics and cycle characteristics. |
