PURPOSE: A composition containing Ninjurin1 expression or activation inhibitor for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases is provided to induce cell apoptosis and to enhance iNOS expression and NO generation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing and treating inflammatory diseases contains Ninjurin1 expression and activation inhibitor. The Ninjurin1 protein has an amino acid of sequence number 1. The inhibitor of Ninjurin1 protein expression is anti-sense nucleotide which complementarily binds to Ninjurin1 gene mRNA, short interfering RNA, or short hairpin RNA.
