<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device as the method and device for cleaning and measuring a tool of a tool unit accurately without having large variations and directly incorporated in an operation process. <P>SOLUTION: The tool 3 to be measured is cleaned with ultrasonic waves. The cleaning is carried out in a container 4 where a liquid 5 is filled up, and water, an oil-soluble medium, and/or a fat-soluble medium are used as a liquid.
