<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus effectively using a touched position detector when an eye of a user has approached a finder. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 1 includes: an optical finder 316; a rear monitor 33 provided below the optical finder 316; a touch panel 332 detecting a touched position by a finger Fp on a display screen 33f of the rear monitor 33; and a grip 303 provided to the right of the rear monitor 33. When the eye has approached the optical finder 316, processing restricted to a touching operation to icons B1 to B5 arranged in an angled area formed of a right end area and a lower end area in the right half of the display screen 33f is performed.
