PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lubrication structure of a cylinder liner reducing a friction coefficient in a fluid lubrication state between a skirt of a piston and a cylinder liner, and improving fuel economy. SOLUTION: A recess groove 11 for reducing a lubrication area is formed to an inner surface of a lower part of the cylinder liner 1a on a side lower than a lower surface of an oil ring groove 10a at a bottom dead center position of the piston 2.
