<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide printing technique which uses flexographic printing and features a combination of high definition, film thickness controllability, especially, thick film properties and marginality control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This letterpress printing method uses a letterpress with a dent 13 on the upper surface of a projecting part 12 of the letterpress constituted of a resin-based material or a rubber-based material. In addition, the letterpress printing method comprises an ink filling process to fill the dent 13 in the projecting part 12 of the letterpress with an ink 14, a surplus ink removal process to remove the ink 15 in a part other than the dent 13 on the upper surface of the projecting part 12 of the letterpress, and an ink transfer process to transfer the ink 14 by pressing the projecting part 12 of the letterpress to matter to be printed.
