<p>The method involves moving a probe head (20) relative to a workpiece holder (12) until a plunger (22) contacts a stopper (26). A target measuring force with which the plunger is pressed against the stopper is adjusted, and a measured variable representing a bending displacement of the plunger is determined based on the target measuring force. An actual measuring force is determined based on the measured variable and a defined flexural rigidity of the plunger. The target measuring force and the actual measuring force are adjusted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a coordinate measuring apparatus for determining a space coordinate at a device under test (2) a computer program product with a carrier medium comprising program code for performing a method for calibrating a measuring force in a coordinate measuring apparatus.</p>
