The drive (10) has two chain wheels (13) cooperating with a chain (17), where one of the chain wheels is mounted on a drive shaft (11) i.e. crankshaft. The other chain wheel is mounted on a shaft of an assembly of a module to be driven. The assembly is driven in a defined angle position to the drive shaft. A chain jump over protection device (19) is inserted into a recess of a housing section (18) of the drive shaft. The jump over protection device protects the chain before jumping over on one of the chain wheels. The protection device is formed as a protection clip that is made of plastic.
