The module (1) has a pedal element (3) supported over a predetermined pivotable angle region pivotable at a bearing bracket (2). Power of a motor vehicle is changed by actuating the pedal element by a driver of a motor vehicle, where the module has an auxiliary function by which the pedal element acts as a footrest for a foot of the driver. The auxiliary function is activated during activation of automatic speed control of the vehicle. A friction element (6) is operatively connected to the pedal element, and arranged on shaft stub (32) of the pedal element.
