PURPOSE: A steel off-board optical fiber cable is provided to prevent a deformation resulting from shock or pressure by embodying a metal tube that is formed into a spring pipe shape by wrapping a metal band in a spiral shape. CONSTITUTION: An optical fiber element(11) is a light transmitting media. A metal tube surrounds the optical fiber element, formed into a cylindrical shape by wrapping a metal band in a spiral shape in order to have a hollow space inside. An external cladding tube(15) is clad with synthetic resin material in order to surround the metal tube. In first seal reinforcing material(16), a plurality of fiber yarns is filled between the metal tube and the optical fiber element. In second seal reinforcing material(17), a plurality of fiber yarns is filled between the metal tube and external cladding tube.
