PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion plate capable of more brightly illuminating a transmission type image display panel or the like.

SOLUTION: The light diffusion plate 3 includes a transparent resin and light-diffusing particles, wherein the transparent resin has a light transmittance of≥65% when light having a wavelength of 600 nm is transmitted through an optical path length of 200 nm. Preferably, the transparent resin has a zinc content of≤150 ppm.
