<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for an automated long-term disease management of patients of knowledge base. <P>SOLUTION: Disease management is performed, in a perfectly automated manner by using a periodic interactive dialog with a patient so as to acquire the health state measurements from the patient; evaluate and assess the progress of the patient's disease; review the therapy and adjust it to the optimal level; manage treatment; and give the patient the medical advice for coping with sudden and rapid episodes of the disease. The patient's health is promoted, in an automated way, that reduces the intervention of medical care that requires a very high cost. The system is specially designed to accumulate and use the information that is unique to a single patient so that the disease management can be adapted to individual cases. As a patient is managed over a long period of time, a profile is built in the form of the frequency of and the reason for the patient's contact with the system, the patient's subjective understanding of the disease, the patient's objective response with respect to various treatments, and the patient's preference on the treatments. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
