<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for subband processing of input signals. <P>SOLUTION: The device for subband processing of input signals includes an analysis filter bank including two signal branches, two subband signal processors which are supplied with two subband signals from the analysis filter bank and a synthesis filter bank which synthesizes output signals. A decimation filter is an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter, a first interpolation filter is an infinite impulse response (IIR) filter, or the decimation filter and the first interpolation filter are both infinite impulse response (IIR) filters.
