PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attrition mill which shares a drive source for the attrition mill and a pre-treatment crushing machine without increasing an occupied area of an apparatus. SOLUTION: The compound type attrition mill 1 is constituted so that a main motor 3 is arranged at a lower part and a main attrition mill 4 and the pre-treatment attrition mill 5 are stacked at an upper part. A collared case 26 of the pre-treatment attrition mill 5 is fixed to an upper lid 11 and directly connected to a mill opening 10. A grinding wheel 33 for pre-treatment facing a fixed grinding stone 32 for pre-treatment is placed on an upper rotary table 34 and connected to an extended rotary shaft 35. The extended rotary shaft 35 is connected to a rotary shaft 36 of the main attrition mill 4 and both grinding wheels 8 and 33 are rotated by drive of the main motor 3. In the compound type attrition mill 1, the clearance between the two sets of serial grinding stones is adjusted with handles 23, 38 provided at the upper and lower parts.
