<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring with improved mountability and a sealing structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A side surface 10 facing to a side wall surface 31 of a circular groove 30 is composed of a sliding contact part 10a which slidably contacts the side wall surface 31 on an opening part side of the circular groove 30, and a separated part 10b separated from the side wall surface 31 to reduce a sliding area with the side wall surface 31 in a groove bottom side of the circular groove 30. The seal ring 1 is pushed and attached in the circular groove 30 by butting a part projecting from the circular groove 30 on a tapered surface 22 provided for an opening edge of a shaft hole 20, when a shaft 3 is inserted into the shaft hole 20 after the seal ring 1 is mounteded on the circular groove 30.
