A conductivity meter (1) is described at least for determining the fill level of electrically conducting liquids. A measuring element (10) is provided, comprising at least one support member (12) and at least two electrodes (40a, b) with a first (42) and a second end (44), said electrodes extending in the vertical direction, wherein the electrodes (40a, b) comprise at least one shielded area (22) near the first end (42) and wherein each electrode (40a, b) comprises at least a first and a second open contact surface (46, 52), each of which is adjacent to shielded area (22). Also described is a liquid treatment device (70) comprising such a conductivity meter (1).
