<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical LED illumination, while reducing the manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: An illumination device 1 is equipped with a support body 51, where a substrate 52 on which a solid light-emitting element 50 is mounted, is fixed in an airtight manner, and a case 3 to fit and retain the substrate 52 and the support body 51 between support plates 61a, 61b equipped, in a hollow structure along the longitudinal direction and a wall face of the hollow structure.
