<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rehabilitation apparatus which can enlarge a bending angle of a second orthosis with respect to a first orthosis. <P>SOLUTION: The rehabilitation apparatus comprises the first orthosis 10 arranged along one bone of the joint, the second orthosis 20 arranged along the other bone of the joint, and an artificial muscle 30 having one end 31 attached to the first orthosis 10 and the other end 32 attached to the second orthosis 20. An actuator that extends and contracts by supply and discharge of gas, liquid, a solid material or a mixture thereof is used as the artificial muscle 30 to support movement of the elbow, the knee or the wrist of a user. The artificial muscle 30 has a configuration that the end 31 is displaceable with respect to the first orthosis 10. With such a configuration, a bending angle of the second orthosis 20 with respect to the first orthosis 10 can be enlarged by displacing the end 31 of the artificial muscle 30 in comparison to a bending angle when the one end 31 of the artificial muscle 30 is not displaced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
