摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion battery in which an electrode active material layer having a laminate structure is provided on the electrode and which is superior in high rate characteristics, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In the lithium ion battery, at least one active material layer out of positive electrode active material layers 34, 36 and a negative electrode active material layer 44 has a structure that a first active material layer 34 formed on a surface of a current collector 32 and a second active material layer 36 formed on the first active material layer are laminated. As the active material to constitute the first active material layer, a granular active material relatively small in the average particle diameter (D50) is used. As the active material to constitute the second active material layer, the granular active material relatively large in the average particle diameter (D50) is used, and the filling rate of the active material in the first active material layer is higher than that of the active material in the second active material layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
