PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which how an actual output is made is recognized when a page editing operation is carried out on a display screen. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 provided with a display section 401 and a printer section 500 for forming a page image on paper in page units on the basis of image data included in a job includes a control section 101 for carrying out a thumb nail display of the page image based on the image data on a display section 401 and an operating section 403 for receiving an instruction for a prescribed page editing to the page image that includes the thumb nail display carried out. The control section 101 determines whether or not there is a page having no image formed on a backside when the job is in a both sides mode and as the result of the prescribed page editing by the operating section 403 and when determined that there is the page having no image formed on the backside, the page having no image formed is displayed on the display section 401 as a white image.
