<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a respiratory tract securing apparatus enabling a medical worker to easily secure a respiratory tract while eliminating a burden on a patient due to reinsertion without causing a bent of a tip part of a distensible cuff even if inserting the distensible cuff in the extracted state of air. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The respiratory tract securing apparatus 30 for securing a patient's respiratory tract with the distensible cuff 14 includes an air tube 12 passed toward the respiratory tract from the patient's mouth, and the distensible cuff 14 distended in annular shape. The air tube 12 is inserted in, for example, a flexible cylinder body 40. The distensible cuff 14 is thereby inserted inside the mouth in the narrowed state of its width, and then an engaging means that has narrowed the width of the distensible cuff 14 is released to restore the distensible cuff 14 into the original state inside the mouth and to apply it to the respiratory tract.
