<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sintered ore with high productivity and with a low unit consumption of a carbon material by suppressing the production of unburnt carbon in a sintering machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The production method includes: determining a carbon combustion rate Rc (unit:%) by the expression Rc=C2/C1×100 from the amount of blended carbon C1 contained in a sintered raw material, and the amount of burnt carbon C2, which has been calculated from the amount of an exhaust gas discharged from the sintering machine by a main exhaust fan, and CO and CO<SB>2</SB>concentrations in the exhaust gas, on the basis of C balance; and adjusting operation conditions of the sintering machine (one or more operation factors of a pallet moving speed, the quantity of enriched oxygen in the aspirated gas, the amount of the carbon material in the sintered raw material, the amount of the charged carbon material onto the upper part of the sintered bed, and the particle size of the carbon material blended in the sintered raw material) so that the carbon combustion rate Rc becomes a predetermined fixed value or higher.
