PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood purifying device and a method of blood flow volume operation measuring an actual blood flow rate of extracorporeal circulation in the blood circuit in a short time with high accuracy without relation to an individual difference of detecting means. SOLUTION: The blood purifying device comprises a dialyzer 2 connected between a blood circuit 1a at an arterial side and a blood circuit 1b at a vein side, a water removing pump 10 which removes water of a patient's blood passing through the dialyzer 2, and a detecting means 5, and the detecting means 5 is composed of a single hematocrit sensor mounted on the blood circuit 1b at the vein side, a control means 16 of the water removing speed which changes the water removing speed by the water removing pump 10, and an operation means 15 which calculates the blood flow rate (actual blood flow rate as real blood flow rate) circulating in the blood circuit 1 before and after changing of the water removing speed by the control means 16 of the water removing speed with a predetermined operational expression where each hematocrit value detected by the detecting means 5 is used as a parameter.
