<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent liquid separating channel forming material reduced in thickness, capable of ensuring sufficient flow channel spaces and preventing the collapse of the flow channel spaces even under pressure, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: At least 60 wt.% of warp and weft yarns 20 and 21 comprises heat-fusible yarns constituting a fabric, the weft yarns 21 are woven in a shape collapsed flatly in up and down directions and the crossing points P of the weft yarns 21 with the warp yarns 20 are fixed by heat fusion. When the thickness T of the fabric is set to 1, the thickness (t) of the flatly collapsed yarns is set to 0.05-0.40 and the percentage of the voids of the whole of the fabric is set to 65% or above.
