ANTI-INFLUENZA VIRUS COMPOSITION AND FOOD FOR PREVENTING INFLUENZA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an anti-influenza virus composition which is daily orally available and is excellent in safety.

SOLUTION: A supernatant obtained by grating the edible part of Chinese yam (Dioscorea batatas) and then centrifuging the same at a speed of 10,000 rpm or less for not longer than 1 hour is an orally available anti-influenza virus composition. The viscosity of this composition can be lowered by ultrasonically-treating the same under appropriate conditions. The anti-influenza virus composition can be processed into a dry powder by, for example, freeze-drying.
